The City of Rifle Parks and Recreation Department is seeking candidates for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) works in an advisory capacity to staff and City Council in matters pertaining to Parks and Recreation, such as master planning, programming, development of policies, capital project prioritization, and review of the annual budget.
The Board consists of 7 regular members, plus 1 alternate member--who may vote during the absence of a regular board member. Generally, each seat is a three-year term. Terms of incumbents will be based on the term remaining for the seat that was vacated.
Applications are being accepted for one regular board seat--term ending in 2022, one regular board seat, term ending in 2023, and the alternate seat, term ending in 2023. Board members may apply to be reappointed at the end of the term.
Candidates must live within Rifle city limits.
Candidates will be interviewed by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The board will then make a recommendation to City Council for appointments.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory board generally meets 2 times per month on Monday evenings at 5:30 p.m., (one week prior to next Rifle City Council meeting).
Interested persons may obtain an application and/or more information by contacting the Parks and Recreation Director, Tom Whitmore, at email@example.com
Applications will be accepted until 5:00pm on Friday, February 25, 2022.
