Water Conditions Core Creek, Lake Towhee and Lake Galena
Wed, Aug 16, 2023
UPDATE: Water conditions at Lake Luxemburg in Core Creek Park, Langhorne, Lake Towhee in Quakertown and Lake Galena in Peace Valley Park, Doylestown make the water susceptible to harmful algal blooms (HABs). HABs occur when microscopic organisms in a waterbody produce toxins or other harmful compounds that can harm people, pets, or wildlife. In Pennsylvania, HABs are most commonly caused by cyanobacteria.
Please be reminded that Bucks County Ordinance 170 prohibits wading and swimming in any controlled waters (including lakes).
Please wash your hands with soap and water. Keep pets from swimming in and drinking affected water, and be aware of symptoms of HAB-associated illness in both humans and animals, such as diarrhea or vomiting, difficulty breathing, dizziness, and weakness or lethargy. If you or your pet show any of these symptoms, contact your primary care provider or veterinarian.
