Welcome to City of Burlington program registration!

Find, and register for, a variety of programming for all ages in locations across the City!

Programs are managed separately by two City departments: Burlington City Arts, and Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront. When registering, please make note of which department manages the program(s) you are interested in and reach out directly to them with any questions or concerns.

Ice Skating

Whether you're a novice or a seasoned figure skater, drop-in Freestyle ice time is intended for you to self-direct your time on the ice outside of public skate.  

Purchase single session, 10 punch package, or 25 punch package.

The season runs from September 3rd, 2024 to May 2nd, 2025 (expiration date). 

If you are on our ice with your private coach, you must pay the arena for your ice usage by enrolling online here. When you arrive you are welcome to skate the whole time by signing in at the clipboard. This is drop-in figure skating ice time. 

Between 12/2/2024-03/04/2025 Mondays & Tuesday will change to 7:15am-8:45am 

no skate days on 9/2, 11/28, 11/29, 12/25, 12/31, 1/1

This class, designed especially for adult figure skaters (not beginners) and is structured to be 30 minutes of teaching and 30 minutes of freeskate to practice. Skaters are broken up into groups based on skill level and the freeskate is supervised by the coaches if a skater would like additional insight

Every Wednesday at 8am-9am for September 4, 2024- April 30th, 2025

You can enroll in ANY session, and ALL sessions! No previous participation required.

Itty Bitty is for beginners as well as more advanced little ones. This class teaches skills of standing and marching on the ice, gliding, swizzles and stopping. Games and activities will be used to practice skills.

Parents/Guardians plan on being within eye-sight during lesson.

You can enroll in ANY session, and ALL sessions! No previous participation required. 

Levels 1-6 ice skating lessons introduces and practice skills of gliding, stopping and turning with stroking, edges and crossovers as well as beginning spins and jumps introduced as skills are mastered. Each class includes time to practice what has been learned, supervised by coaches. Sessions only include 5 lessons and that take place on 5 weekends total. Please note excluded days in the class descriptions. Skaters new to the ice are welcome as well as those who are trying to go to the next level.

Want to be able to confidently skate at public skating or skating for the first time ever? Hoping to learn to skate backwards or try a spin?

Learn new skills at your own pace with other adults. Each class includes individual/group instruction and time to practice.

Beginner skaters through those learning turns, cross-overs and more are welcome! There are crates to use if you need help with balance on the ice and rental skates you can add to your cart during check-out online.

Advanced Basics Levels 4 and Up is for skaters who want a small group lesson and the opportunity to progress their abilities on the ice. Many have gone on to be competitive figure skaters and hockey players in their futures.

You are not required to have done session 1 nor 2 in order to sign up for session 3 or 4.

Pre Free Skate-Preliminary level who have passed Basic 3 in their Learn to Skate lessons.

Classes will focus on edge work, spins, and jumps.

Will include large group, small group instruction and individual practice

Enjoy ensemble skating skills. Ensemble Theatrical Performance.

Create Characters on the ice. Class designed for Basic 3 level and above skaters.

Coached by Jen

This class builds toward performances in our annual "The Gift" holiday skating show in December, a performance in our February Children's Theatre on Ice event, and performance in our Spring Skating Show in April all at Leddy Arena. Your coach will release dates for these performances (and the registration/cost details) one or more months in advance. 

You must provide your own ice skates for this advanced class.

Your skater will love our camp here at Leddy! Skaters of levels welcome.

Learn to skate with professional coaches in the morning and spend the afternoon connecting with their friends over crafts, legos, small group games, and outdoor adventures on the beautiful grounds of Leddy Park! 

Full Day: 8:30-4:00pm

Half-Day MORNING only: 8:30-12:00pm

All listed stick season outings will serve as introductory Nordic Skiing programs with the exclusion of Wheeler Park, which will function as a winter hike no matter what. 

All programs will pivot to hiking activities with access to cramp-ons, ice spikes, or snowshoes (provided) if the weather is not appropriate for Nordic Skiing. 

No experience necessary, and Nordic skis will be provided for use at no additional charge if requested at check-out.

The Bolton Valley Afterschool Ski/Board Program provides the opportunity for middle school and high school youth to access the mountain and enhance their skills in a fun group setting. The fee covers transportation to and from Bolton. Those who do not have a nightly or season pass will need to purchase a lift ticket package. Lessons, taught by Bolton Instructors, and ski or snowboard rentals, are also available for an additional cost at registration.

If you are interested in being a chaperone, please contact Zachary Martin at (802) 923-9628 to request a chaperone information form. Volunteers must be background checked prior to starting in the program.

Sports

Soccer Sparks offers age-appropriate soccer classes for kids ages 2 to 9 in a low pressure, high skill learning environment. The Soccer Sparks approach utilizes fun and games so that children develop a passion for soccer without the stress of competitive play. Taught by USSF Nationally Certified coaches, Soccer Sparks' “all-ball” training techniques help kids meet their maximum potential while emphasizing fair play and enjoyment of the sport.

Learn parts of the court, rules, and scoring.  We will cover the basic rally shots (forehand, backhand, dinks) and volleys.  This course is recommended for those who have never played pickleball or have played only once or twice. Chris Tudor is the instructor for this clinic.

The Melanie Davidian Basketball League participants are a welcoming, inclusive group of people and accept players of all skill levels, who are over the age of 18. We are a LGBTQIA+ inclusive league that includes cis-women, trans, intersex, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals. (This language is not exhaustive and we welcome you to reach out if you feel this community could be a fit for you!)

Participants must register as a team. Individuals looking to join a team are welcome to meet team captains, at our pre-season meeting, that will be held at the Miller Center on October 9, at 6pm, however we cannot guarantee placement on a team.
