Do not miss your fingerprinting appointment
Wed, Jun 15, 2022
We do not give refunds or reschedule missed appointments.
When registering for a fingerprinting appointment, a session is available if you see displayed 0/1 and you can continue through the prompts to payment. A session is full if you see displayed 1/1 and a prompt appears that says "session is full". There is only one registrant per thirty-minute session.
The estimated time from fingerprinting to your handgun license pick up is approximately nine months. There are several reasons for this time frame; the Pistol Office was on COVID pause for several months and catching up, there has been an increase in the number of applications for a handgun license in Orange County, there are only three Judges who review the applications, and it is a national election year. The Pistol Office has more than twenty dedicated Investigators working to assist with your application process. They thank you for your patience!
